How it works ?
Podesk is composed of a publishing tool you will use on your computer : Podesk Publisher, and a server side CMS (Content Management System) : Dotclear with the Podesk Plugin you will set up once on your server.
Using Podesk Publisher is simple:
- Enter a title and the text content of the video (it can be tags).
- Drag and drop your videofile or press record to record from your webcam.
Podesk encode, upload the video to your web site and create the thumbnails, the web page and the RSS2 wrapper for podcasting. Podesk Web site
Automatic scene detection based on image analysis
Podesk turns video files into segmented video using its advanced built-in Scene Detection utility.
This video (Boaten Anna) shows how Podesk analyse video footage (on the left side) and detected scenes (on the right side). You may notice that fades and fades to black scenes are not detected. Also it can not detects scenes that are shorter than 2 seconds.
Podesk XML is fully compatible with the MPEG-7 Metadata Standard, media files processed through the application can be integrated into any information systems and processes.
