Multimedia as a helping device in dance teaching and choreographic process

I'm giving a workshop and lectures at the Choreography Department of Tallinn University,Estonia.24-26th april 2008.

What happen when the body  becomes the only interface ? How can the body learn, play and compose an audio-visual artifact ? How does it affect creativity and emotion. Can the body function as a visual instrument ?

Interdisciplinary Studies Course, Konstfack, Stockholm

I'm guest lecturer at Konstfack for an Interdisciplinary Studies Course organized by Nadia El-Imam (more info below). I will present a short history of live visuals production tools and software + projects I'm involved in. Students will be invited to mis/use my "Sramble" software using their own digital materials. Scramble will be used in an semi-immersive environment / fake Second Life using the Wii remote control as the main control interface.

Audio report from Tomas Nygren, Pixelvärk 2007

Tomas Nygren has audio recorded some of the lectures at the PixelVÄRK festival, including mine!

Gondouin presented a variety of exiting projects. Most notably was his notion in a dance perfomance setup that the interaction with the dancer made all the effort to use advanced motion-tracking methods less successful compared to using an ordinary midi-control device, since using the midi-contoller maintained the direct contact between the performers.

Grains & Pixels and VJ Bertranol awarded by the Prix Möbius Nordica Experimental, Pixelache Highlights 2007

Prix Möbius Nordica competition and Pixelache together decided to give special awards to some of the most interesting projects in the Nordic VJ Meeting.
The jury members were Eva Bischof-Herlbauer & Gery Herlbauer (Austria) from 4youreye / Eye|Con, Gabor Kitzinger aka VJ Rio Rokoko (Hungary) and Nordic VJ Meeting programme director Petri Ruikka.

Scramble

The Scramble software is my playground when experimenting with live video. It's a kind of Magic Lantern into which you can throw any kind of picture and animate it – I feed scramble with my own drawings, videos or photos – or start drawing from scratch in a 3D space.
